Welcome to Day 2 of Grand Prix Championship Sydney! After 6 Rounds of Swiss, our remaining 37 competitors will be starting Day 2 all at 0-0. After 4 Rounds of Swiss there will be a Top 8 Playoff Cut. Our first round feature match of Day features 2 veteran players, Chris Schwarz and Victor Nolen! After a quick dice roll that Schwarz won 5-1, play began.
Game 1
Schwarz ends his first turn with no plays.
Nolen Normal Summons Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress. Lyla attacks directly for 1700, and Nolen ends by milling 3 cards.

Schwarz sets a monster and ends.
Nolen attacks and destroys the face-down Level Eater with Lyla, then plays Charge of the Light Brigade in Main Phase 2 to add Ryko, Lightsworn Beast to his hand. Nolen sets 2 cards to his backrow, mills 3 cards with Lyla and ends.
Schwarz activates Mind Control on Lyla, then activates her effect on a backrow but Nolen discards Effect Veiler to save it. Schwarz follows it up with Monster Reborn on Nolen's milled Lonefire Blossom but Nolen chains Call of the Hauntd to Special Summon the Lonefire Blossom! Schwarz Normal Summons Effect Veiler and tunes it with Lyla for T.G. Hyper Librarian, who attacks over Lonefire Blossom for 1900. Schwarz ends with no further plays.

Schwarz Summons Debris Dragon targetting Effect Veiler but Nolen discards another Effect Veiler to negate it. Schwarz then Special Summons Level Eater from his graveyard by making Librarian a Level 4, and Special Summons Doppelwarrior from his hand. He tunes Debris Dragon with Level Eater and Doppel Warrior for Black Rose Dragon, drawing a card with Librarian and Special Summon 2 Doppel Tokens. Librarian attacks over the face-down Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter who destroys Black Rose Dragon; Nolen mills 3 cards including a Dandylion. Both Doppel tokens run over both Fluff Tokens and Schwarz ends his turn.
Nolen sets another monster and ends. Things are looking very grim for him at this point!
Schwarz Summons Junk Synchron, who Special Summons Effect Veiler in Defense. He then tunes Effect Veiler and a Doppel Token for Formula Synchron, drawing 2 cards. Next he tunes Junk Synchron and the remaining Doppel Token for Armory Arm, drawing another card. Armory Arm and Formula Synchron tune together for Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier and Schwarz draws another card. He plays his drawn card, Giant Trunade to no response from Nolen. Next he plays One for One, discarding Dandylion to Special Summon Spore and 2 Fluff Tokens. Spore is tuned with a Fluff Token for Formula Synchron, and Schwarz draws another 2 cards. Lonefire Blossom is discarded for Brionac's effect to spin Nolen's face-down monster, and Schwarz removes Lonefire Blossom to Special Summon a Level 4. He tunes the Spore with his remaining Fluff Token for another T.G. Hyper Librarian, drawing 1 card. He then makes the new Librarian Level 4 to Special Summon Level Eater and tunes Brionac with Formula and Level Eater for Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier; Nolen conceeds to Trishula and moves to his Side Deck.
Game 2
Nolen begins the second game by setting 3 cards to his backrow.
Schwarz Summons Lonefire Blossom but Nolen negates it with Solemn Warning. He then sets 1 card to his backrow before ending.
Nolen draws and activates Mystical Space Typhoon from his hand but Schwarz chains the targetting card, Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Nolen's set Solemn Judgment. Nolen activates Monster Reborn targetting Lonefire Blossom and Schwarz discards Maxx "C" in response. Nolen tributes Lonefire Blossom to Special Summon his own Lonefire Blossom, which is tributed for another Lonefire Blossom, That Lonefire Blossom is then tributed off for Dandylion and Nolen Normal Summons Glow-Up Bulb. He tunes Glow-Up Bulb to Dandylion for Armory Arm and Special Summons 2 Fluff Tokens. He then mills a card for Glow-Up Bulb but Schwarz chains D.D. Crow to remove Bulb from play. Armory Arm attacks for 1800 and Nolen ends; Schwarz drew a total of 6 cards with Maxx "C" during this turn.

Schwarz draws to 9 cards in hand and activates Tuning, searching out Quickdraw Synchron while milling Mystical Space Typhoon. He discards Dandylion to Special Summon Quickdraw Synchron, then Special Summons 2 Fluff Tokens. He tunes 1 Token with Quickdraw for Drill Warrior. Next he Summons Junk Synchron, who Special Summons D.D. Crow in Defense. He tunes Junk with Crow and the remaining Fluff Token for T.G. Hyper Librarian and attacks over Armory Arm and a Fluff Token for 600 total. In his Main Phase Schwarz discards Level Eater to remove Drill Warrior from play, then sets 2 cards to his backrow and activates Foolish Burial to send Debris Dragon to his graveyard before ending.

Nolen draws and passes.
Schwarz draws and returns Drill Warrior, who adds Debris Dragon to his hand. He then Summons Debris Dragon to Special Summon Dandylion and makes Drill Warrior a Level 5 to Special Summon Level Eater. He tunes Debris Dragon with Level Eater and Dandylion for Scrap Dragon, and Special Summons 2 Fluff Tokens while drawing 1 card. Schwarz destroys his own Fluff Token with Scrap Dragon to destroy Nolen's remaining Fluff Token. Librarian attacks directly, then Drill Warrior and Nolen drops Gorz after Drill Warrior's attack; Scrap Dragon runs over Gorz. In his Main Phase 2, Schwarz discards Glow-Up Bulb to remove Drill Warrior from play then mills a card to Special Summon the Bulb. He tunes the Bulb with his remaining Fluff Token for Formula Synchron, drawing 2 cards. He then makes Scrap Dragon a Level 7 to Special Summon Eater, and tunes it with T.G. Hyper Librarian & Formula Synchron to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon before ending.
